Inclement Weather Updates

March 22, 2018

Dear Holabird Families---

Due to the inclement weather and school closings this week, we have had to rearrange several field trips and school events. Please note the following updates, which will also be listed on our website:

  • The Aquarium trip for our FALS students was scheduled for today (Thursday 3/22). Information about a possible reschedule will be sent home to parents from Mr. Lipscomb.
  • The UMBC-ETS trips to the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. have been postponed. Both the 7th grade and the 8th grade trip will be rescheduled for April. Ms. Telford will provide details.
  • The Spring Musical, Annie, Jr., will have only one evening performance, which is still scheduled for tomorrow (Friday 3/23, 7 p.m. at Dundalk HS, $3 for students and seniors, $5 for adults).
  • The 8th Grade Band Assessments at Perry Hall HS are still scheduled for tomorrow. Please be sure performers are dressed in proper attire; white shirts/blouses, black pants/skirts. Ms. Hunter will provide details regarding other assessments.
  • The 5th Grade Ballroom Dance Finale has been postponed. It is rescheduled for Tuesday 3/27. Mr. Wasky will provide details.

Yearbooks are on sale for only 4 more weeks! The cost is $28.00. They can be purchased in room 45 during homeroom or online at .
The last day to purchase a yearbook is Friday, April 6.

Literacy Night
Encourage your student to read each night!!  Have them stop by the middle school or elementary school library to check out a book that interests them.

Reminders from the Health Suite 


  • If your child failed the hearing and/or vision screening this past fall please follow up with his/her doctor


  • Students cannot carry medications to/from school (including cough drops).


  • All medication needs to be brought to the health suite by a parent or designed adult.The medication administration from needs to be completed by his/her doctor.

    ATTENTION parents of 6th grade students:  

  • All students entering the 7th grade are required to have the Tdap and Meningitis vaccines
